Privacy Policy
Effective October 15, 2026
This policy explains how Ashwani Sud (“we”, “us”) handles information in the MayBee app (“MayBee”). If you have questions, email maybeapp888@gmail.com.
What we collect
Family details a grown-up enters
- First names of family members, and what kids call each grown-up (for example “Mom” or “Grandma”).
- Kids' ages (stored as a birth year), used to turn on kid mode for kids under 13 and to set weekly ask limits.
- The cartoon bee each person picks as their picture.
What your family does in MayBee
- Asks and their details (what, where, when, how much, and any note), and each grown-up's answer.
- Grown-ups' private “Talk it over” messages, offers and punch cards.
- Chores, coins, ask limits, the family's settings, and each person's notification choices.
Photos (optional)
If your family turns on photo proof, a kid can add a photo to show a chore is done. Photos are resized, have their location and other hidden details removed on the device, are stored privately for your family, and are deleted as soon as a grown-up checks them.
Device information
- An anonymous sign-in for each phone or iPad, so it stays the same person in your family. We don't ask for an email address, phone number or password.
- A push notification token, so MayBee can deliver your family's notifications. We keep a record of whether each notification was delivered for 7 days to fix problems.
Subscription status
Whether your family has Family Pro and until when. Apple handles all payments; we never see payment details.
Anonymous setup counts
We count a few setup steps (for example “a family was created” or “an invite was made”) to learn where families get stuck. These counts contain no names or content, and nothing is counted from kids' devices.
What we don't collect
MayBee doesn't use your device's location (an “I'm here” check-in is a tap, not GPS), contacts, advertising identifiers, or browsing activity. There are no ads in MayBee.
How we use it
Only to run MayBee for your family: keeping everyone's devices in sync, sending the notifications each person has switched on, sharing Family Pro across your family, keeping MayBee secure, and improving MayBee using the anonymous counts above.
Who can see it
- Your family. Each device can read only its own family's information. Kids don't see grown-ups' private messages, and while an ask is open, kids don't see how each grown-up answered.
- Our service providers, only to run MayBee: Supabase (database, file storage and sign-in, hosted in the United States) and Apple (push notifications and payments). They may not use your information for anything else.
- If the law requires it, for example a valid court order, or to protect someone's safety.
We don't sell or rent personal information, and we don't share it for advertising.
Children's privacy
MayBee is made for families, including kids under 13. A parent or guardian sets up the family and creates each kid's profile; kids can't sign up on their own. We collect only what MayBee needs to work (a first name, an age, a cartoon bee, and what the kid does in the app), and we don't make a kid share more than that to use MayBee. Kids can't post anything publicly; what they share is visible only to their own family. Kid mode for kids under 13 keeps privacy settings off until a grown-up turns them on.
Parents and guardians can see their kids' information in the app, change it, or delete it, and can stop any further collection by deleting the kid's profile or the whole family. To ask us to review or delete a child's information, email maybeapp888@gmail.com.
How long we keep it, and deleting it
- Your family's information is kept while your family uses MayBee.
- Chore photos are deleted as soon as a grown-up checks them. Notification delivery records are kept for 7 days.
- A grown-up can delete everything at any time: Family tab → Delete our family. This permanently deletes every profile, ask, chore, coin and photo, and signs out every device in the family. Copies in our provider's backups are removed on their normal backup schedule.
- The anonymous setup counts aren't linked to your family and stay after deletion.
Security
Information travels over encrypted connections. Access rules on our servers let each device read only its own family, and changes are checked so each person can only do what their role allows (for example, kids can't sign answers).
Your choices and rights
You can see and change your family's information in the app, choose which notifications you get, and delete your family's data at any time. Depending on where you live, you may have more rights, such as getting a copy of your information. Email maybeapp888@gmail.com and we'll help.
Changes
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we'll tell you in the app before the change takes effect.
